She's reported on sports at some of the most prestigious outlets around the globe. The time she worked working at The Washington Post was spent covering numerous Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis, football and basketball. In 2004 Nichols transferred to ESPN for a nine-year run where she won two Emmy Awards and appeared on several of the network's top watched programs, like SportsCenter as well as NFL Countdown. Also, she was a an integral part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts as a sideline reporter. Her next move was CNN, and then Turner Sports. Unguarded by Rachel Nichols was the first program she hosted and created. It was aired on CNN International as well as CNN. More than 1 billion people saw it on the air worldwide. Nichols worked at TNT as a broadcaster and reporter on NBA games, including playoffs, regular season as well as All Star shows. She has also worked for TBS as a reporter covering baseball and golf coverage. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. marking only the second occasion in the award's 42 year history that a woman was nominated amongst the more than 200 nominees.
